Day 1 London Heathrow to Buenos Aires
Fly overnight from London with British Airways to Buenos Aires.
Day 2 Arrive Buenos Aires
Arrive into Buenos Aires in the morning where you will be met and
transferred to the Sofitel Hotel
where you will stay for the next two nights.
Day 3 Buenos Aires
Take a guided tour through this cosmopolitan city divided into barrios
or neighborhoods, each different, yet full of character. Visit the Plaza
de Mayo, the main square in the heart of the city, the bohemian quarter
of San Telmo, the colourful port area of La Boca and the famous Recoleta
cemetery, where Eva Peron is buried. (B)
Day 4 Buenos Aires to El Calafate – by air
Early morning fly to El Calafate. You will be met on arrival by your
driver and continue on the legendary 40 Route which offers spectacular
views across the Patagonian steppe. Cross the border between Argentina and
Chile at Cancha Carrera and after lunch continue on to the Torres del Paine
National Park. This magnificent park is a UNESCO World Heritage site because
of its unique wildlife and stunning scenery. Stay for three nights at the
Hostería Las Torres. (B)
Day 5 Torres del Paine
&
Day 6 Torres del Paine
Chile's Torres del Paine National Park is the most recognized symbol of
Patagonia. This remote and beautiful area encompasses mountains, glaciers
and lakes and is a habitat for guanaco, condor and the native flightless
rhea. In the company of specialist guides visit Nordenskjold Lake,
Salto Grande waterfall, Lake Pehoé, Lake Grey and Amarga Lagoon. (B/L/D)
Day 7 Torres del Paine to El Calafate – 290kms
Depart from Torres del Paine with your driver. Cross back over the
border between Chile and Argentina and continue to El Calafate. Stay
at the Koi Aiken Hotel for two nights or the superior Hosteria Los
Notros which is situated inside the park overlooking the beautiful
Lago Argentino and the Perito Moreno glacier. (B)
Day 8 Visit Perito Moreno
Today view up close the colossal Perito Moreno glacier which spans
five kilometers across and towers some sixty metres above the surface
of the lake. From an observation platform or boat watch as huge chunks
of blue ice shear off the face of the glacier and crash into the waters
below. (B)
Day 9 El Calafate to Buenos Aires – by air
Buenos Aires to Iguazu – by air
This morning fly to Iguazu via Buenos Aires. You will be met on arrival
and transferred to your hotel. Stay at the Sheraton International Iguazu
for one night. (B)
Day 10 Iguazu to Rio de Janeiro - by air
Four times wider than Niagara, the Iguazu Falls are undoubtedly the
most dramatic in the world. This morning take a boat safari up the
river to the Iguazu Falls – a cacophony of thundering water,
colourful rainbows and furious torrents make this a breathtaking sight.
Later transfer to Iguazu Airport for your flight to Rio de Janeiro.
You will be met on arrival and transferred to either Augusto’s
Copacabana Hotel or the superior Copacabana Palace Hotel for your
four night stay. (B)
Day 11Rio de Janeiro
Spend the day sightseeing with your guide. This morning enjoy a visit
to Corcovado Mountain to see the immense statue of Christ the Redeemer
and the nearby Tijuca Forest. Also visit Santa Teresa, a charming
bohemian district, noted for its colonial and 19th Century buildings.
After lunch visit the historical area of the city, stopping at Cinelandia
Square with its historical buildings including the beautiful Municipal
Theatre, the National Library and the National Museum of Fine Arts.

Day 12 Rio de Janeiro
This morning you will be at leisure. In the afternoon take the cable
car ride to Sugar Loaf Mountain from where the sunset views over the
city are breathtaking. Rio de Janeiro is an inspiring city of contrasts
and the mountains, ocean, beaches and architecture all add to make
a memorable stay. (B)
Day 13 Rio de Janeiro
At leisure (no car, driver or guide). (B)
Day 14 Rio de Janeiro to London Heathrow
At leisure (no car, driver or guide). In the evening depart with British
Airways non-stop to London. (B)
Day 15 Arrive London
Arrive into London Heathrow in the morning.
STAYING ON
Experience the historic colonial northwest Argentinan city of Salta, easily reached by air from Buenos Aires. Stay at the House of Jasmines, a beautiful ranch located on a 300 acre estate in the foothills of the Andes, which is the perfect base to explore the Cafayate Gorge and the charming town of Cafayate in a region noted for its wine making.
Wildlife is most spectacular at the Valdés Peninsula, located at the northern tip of Patagonia. Home to the endangered southern right whale, elephant seal and a high diversity of marine and coastal birdlife, southern right whales can often be viewed during their breeding season from June to mid December. The best time to see elephant seals is from August to October and for penguins from September to November.
Wine lovers will be spoilt for choice in Argentina. The Vineyards of Mendoza, a direct flight from Buenos Aires, is an idyllic wine growing region at the foot of the Andes. Prices vary according to selected airlines, hotels and season, however, an indication to the current cost of this itinerary is from £5,180. All prices are per person and are based on a minimum of TWO persons travelling together and sharing a twin bedded room with meals as indicated.
