Day 1 London Heathrow to Buenos Aires
Fly overnight from London with British Airways to Buenos Aires.

Day 2 Arrive Buenos Aires
Assistance on arrival and transfer by car to the Hotel Sofitel Buenos Aires for two nights. This elegant and charming hotel is centrally located in cultural heart of the city.

Day 3 Buenos Aires
Today tour this energetic city where the lifestyle and architecture is more European than any other place in South America. Places of interest include the Plaza de Mayo, the main square in the heart of the city, the bohemian quarter of San Telmo, noted for its colonial buildings, old churches and lively cafes and the colourful port area of La Boca where tango dancers perform and artists exhibit their work. Finally visit the famous Recoleta cemetery, where Eva Peron is buried. (B)

Day 4 Buenos Aires to Bariloche by air
Transfer by car to the airport for your flight to Bariloche. On arrival transfer by car to the Hotel Llao Llao Bustillo for two nights which is situated 25kms from the city of Bariloche. Situated in the foothills of the Andes, surrounded by lakes and mountains this is one of the most attractive in the northern Patagonia region of Argentina. (B)

Day 5 Bariloche
Sightseeing by car with a guide through the Road of the Seven Lakes, a legendary journey highlighting the natural beauty of this region. (B)

Day 6 Andean Lake Crossing to Peulla in Chile
Full day journey by bus and catamaran across the lakes to Peulla in Chile. Travel past waterfalls and forests with views on clear days of the Osorno volcano. On arrival in Puella transfer by car to nearby lakeside town of Puerto Varas and stay for three nights at Cumbres Patagonicas. (B)

Day 7 Puerto Varas
In the morning visit Puerto Varas to explore this charming area where German influences are still very much reflected in the architecture in the towns of Frutillar, Puerto Octay and Puerto Varas affording magnificent views of Osorno Volcano and Llanquihue Lake. (B)

Day 8 Puerto Varas
Visit the Island of Chiloé, one of Chile’s most traditional and picturesque islands, located by just a short ferry crossing off the west coast of the mainland. With its wooden churches and houses, traditional customs and crafts combined with wonderful scenery and abundant birdlife makes Chiloé a unique place to visit. (B)

Day 9 Puerto Montt to Punta Arenas by air
Punta Arenas to Torres Del Paine National Park -380kms

In the morning depart Puerto Montt by air to Punta Arenas. On arrival to Torres Del Paine National Park and stay for three nights at Hostería Las Torres. (B/L/D)

Chile's Torres del Paine National Park is the most recognized symbol of Patagonia. This remote and beautiful area encompasses mountains, glaciers and lakes and is a habitat for guanaco, condor and the native flightless rhea. In the company of specialist guides visit Nordenskjold Lake, Salto Grande waterfall, Lake Pehoé, Lake Grey and Amarga Lagoon. (B/L/D)

Day 12 Torres Del Paine to El Calafate
Depart from your hotel on the legendary 40 Route which offers spectacular views across the Patagonian steppe. Cross the border between Chile and Argentina at Cancha Carrera and continue on to El Calafate in Argentina, gateway to the Glaciers National Park of Patagonia. Stay for three nights at Los Sauces Casa Patagonicas. (B)

Day 13 El Calafate
Today view from a close distance the colossal Perito Moreno glacier which is without doubt one of South America’s most magnificent sights, and arguably one of the world’s greatest wonders. (B)

Day 14 El Calafate
Depart by boat from Punta Banderas pier and sail between icebergs and mountain landscapes to the north of Lake Argentino to Estancia Cristina, a privileged location with the only land access to the magnificent Upsala Glacier. Later sail back to Punta Banderas and return to your hotel. (B/L)

Day 15 El Calafate to Buenos Aires by air
Today transfer to the airport for your return flight to Buenos Aires and on arrival transfer to the Sofitel Buenos Aires Hotel for one night. (B)

Day 16 Buenos Aires to London Heathrow
In the afternoon depart by British Airways, via Sao Paulo, to London Heathrow. (B)

Arrive London in the morning.

STAYING ON

Experience the historic colonial northwest Argentinan city of Salta, easily reached by air from Buenos Aires. Stay at the House of Jasmines, a beautiful ranch located on a 300 acre estate in the foothills of the Andes, which is the perfect base to explore the Cafayate Gorge and the charming town of Cafayate in a region noted for its wine making.

Wildlife is most spectacular at the Valdés Peninsula, located at the northern tip of Patagonia. Home to the endangered southern right whale, elephant seal and a high diversity of marine and coastal birdlife, southern right whales can often be viewed during their breeding season from June to mid December. The best time to see elephant seals is from August to October and for penguins from September to November.

Wine lovers will be spoilt for choice in Argentina. The Vineyards of Mendoza, a direct flight from Buenos Aires, is an idyllic wine growing region at the foot of the Andes. Prices vary according to selected airlines, hotels and season, however, an indication to the current cost of this itinerary is from £5,600. All prices are per person and are based on a minimum of TWO persons travelling together and sharing a twin bedded room with meals as indicated.
