NORTHERN ARGENTINA

Day 1 London to Buenos Aires
Fly overnight from London with British Airways to Buenos Aires. (N)

Day 2 Buenos Aires
Arrive Buenos Aires in the morning where you will be met and transferred to the Park Hyatt Hotel (Park Deluxe Room) for three nights.

Buenos Aires is a vibrant city with bustling streets, wide boulevards, leafy parks and plazas. (N)

Day 3 Buenos Aires
Take a guided tour through this cosmopolitan city divided into barrios or neighborhoods, each different, yet full of character. Places of interest include the Plaza de Mayo, the main square in the heart of the city, the bohemian quarter of San Telmo, noted for its colonial buildings, old churches and lively cafes and the colourful port area of La Boca where tango dancers perform and artists exhibit their work. Finally visit the famous Recoleta cemetery, where Eva Peron is buried. (B)

Day 4 Buenos Aires
This morning transfer to the port for the journey by hydrofoil to Colonia del Sacramento, a UNESCO World Heritage site situated just across the River Plate in Uruguay. Founded in 1680 by the Portuguese, this old colonial town with its cobbled streets and picturesque old houses is rich in history. After lunch in Colonia return by hydrofoil to Buenos Aires. Remainder of day at leisure. (B)

Day 5 Buenos Aires to Mendoza – by air
Early morning transfer to the airport for the flight to Mendoza. You will be met and then driven to the Cavas Wine Lodge for three nights. (B / D)

Day 6 Mendoza

At leisure to enjoy this beautiful wine-producing region. Mendoza offers trekking, horse-back riding and plenty of opportunity to try the local produce. (B / L / D)

Day 8 Mendoza to Buenos Aires – by air
Buenos Aires to San Antonio de Areco – 120 kms

Morning return to Mendoza airport for the flight back to Buenos Aires. You will be met on arrival and then driven to San Antonio de Areco. Stay at the Estancia La Bamba for three nights. (B)

Day 9 San Antonio de Areco
To
Day 10

At leisure. The estancia offers the chance to experience the Argentinean rural way of life. Horses, wine and great food are priorities. (B)

Day 11 San Antonio de Areco to Buenos Aires – 120 kms
Buenos Aires to London

In the afternoon return to Buenos Aires airport and depart by British Airways to London. (B)

Day 12 London
Arrive London in the early morning.

STAYING ON

Experience the historic colonial northwest Argentinean city of Salta, easily reached by air from Buenos Aires. Stay at the House of Jasmines, a beautiful ranch located on a 300 acre estate in the foothills of the Andes, which is the perfect base to explore the Cafayate Gorge and the charming town of Cafayate in a region noted for its wine making.

Wildlife is most spectacular at the Valdés Peninsula, located at the northern tip of Patagonia. Home to the endangered southern right whale, elephant seal and a high diversity of marine and coastal birdlife, southern right whales can often be viewed during their breeding season from June to mid December. The best time to see elephant seals is from August to October and for penguins from September to November.

A Guide to Price – NORTHERN ARGENTINA

Prices vary according to selected airlines, hotels and season, however, an indication to the current cost of this itinerary is from £4,250. All prices are per person and are based on a minimum of TWO persons travelling together and sharing a twin bedded room with meals as indicated. If you wish to travel alone we will be pleased to assist you with your arrangements and can provide a proposal on request.
