DRUK PATH TREK
Day 1 Paro to Jele Dzong (8kms – 3 hours)
This morning leave Paro and start the trek with a short climb up to
Jele Dzong and the camp. There are beautiful views back over the Paro
Valley, if the weather is clear, whilst above the camp is Jele-la
Pass and Jele Dzong. Stay overnight in Tented Accommodation.
Day 2 Jele Dzong to Jangchulakha (10kms – 4 hours)
Leave the camp and begin the day with a gradual ascent through thick
alpine and rhododendron forest. There are far-reaching views of the
famous Mount Jhomolhari as well as the other snow-capped peaks that
surround it. Stay overnight in Tented Accommodation.
Day 3 Jangchulakha to Jimilangtsho (11kms – 4 hours)
Today the route is on high, so, with luck, the views of the mountains,
especially Jichu Drake, and valley are breathtaking. Continue onto
the camp where you will Stay overnight in Tented Accommodation.
Day 4 Jimilangtsho to Simkota (11kms – 4 hours)
Leave the camp at Jimilangtsho and begin the trek to Simkota. As you
pass along the trails that wind through the thick rhododendron trees
you may be lucky to come across camp belonging to Yak herders. These
nomadic herders live a life that has changed little over the centuries.
Stay overnight in Tented Accommodation.
Day 5 Simkota to Phajoding (10kms – 4 hours)
Today, after a short climb, slowly descend through green forest to
the campsite at Phajoding. Stay overnight in Tented Accommodation.
Day 6 Phajoding to Thimphu (5kms – 3 hours)
This morning leave the camp and descend through pine forest to the
capital of Bhutan, Thimphu, and your Hotel.

Overland travel into Bhutan is possible and can be combined with an extended stay in north-eastern India. Darjeeling, Gangtok, Pelling and Kalimpong offer a leisurely insight into this Buddhist region of India and are the base for overland travel into the Bhutanese Kingdom. Bagdogra, near Darjeeling, is linked with a daily flight to Kolkata.
Explore the remote eastern Bhutanese valleys of Bumthang and Trongsa, or, for the more intrepid traveller, continue through the country to its eastern land border with India. Eastern Bhutan is a true frontier land of awe-inspiring scenery, history and culture and offers any traveller a once in a lifetime experience.

Prices vary according to selected airlines, hotels and season, however, an indication to the current cost of this itinerary is PRICE ON REQUEST. All prices are per person and are based on a minimum of TWO persons travelling together and sharing a twin bedded room with meals as indicated. If you wish to travel alone we will be pleased to assist you with your arrangements and can provide a proposal on request.
