A JOURNEY THROUGH BHUTAN

This itinerary offers a once in a lifetime opportunity not only to spend time in one of the world’s least visited countries but to also explore parts of Bhutan that continue to remain virtually closed to the outside world. A tiny land–locked state in the high Himalayas, the one airport in the far west of the country, and one main west–east road, means that for the time–conscious visitor the central valleys remain the limit of exploration. This tour aims to offer the intrepid traveller a chance to travel through the whole of Bhutan to rarely visited parts of the country and exiting by land into India at the eastern border town of Samdrup Jongkhar.
LAND OF THE THUNDER DRAGON

Bhutan remains one of the least visited countries in the world, a place unchanged for centuries with proud ancient traditions. A land of staggering friendliness and beauty, just being in Bhutan, the roof of the world, is to experience something unlike anywhere else. Starting in Kolkata, fly to Paro, home of the famous Tiger’s Nest Monastery and drive onto the capital, Thimphu. From here cross the spectacular Dochu–La Pass to the glacial valley of Gangtey, home of the rare black–necked crane, continuing onto Punakha, the site of an awe–inspiring Dzong.
DRUK PATH TREK

This five night itinerary is an excellent introductory, non-strenuous, trek in Bhutan. The trek can also be used as a base from which to further explore this little-visited country with possible extensions, at its conclusion, by car onto Punakha, Gangtey and Bumthang. An amazing place, there are few countries in the world like Bhutan and the Druk Path Trek will not only introduce you to the renowned friendliness of the people but also the chance to experience the more remote parts of this little-inhabited country at first hand.
HIMALAYAN KINGDOMS

The Himalayan landscape becomes more exotic the further east you travel and this unusual tour provides the opportunity to explore this rich diversity. Journey through jungle-covered foothills up into rhododendron forest and within sight of some of the world's highest peaks. Himalayan cultures feature strongly too, with the marvellous Newar architecture and carved wood of the Kathmandu Valley contrasting with the colourful Tibetan Buddhist-style monasteries of Sikkim and Bhutan.
