TREASURES OF THE NILE

Defying description, a visit to Egypt is to step back in time. With a plethora of ancient sites, combined to some of the most vibrant cities of the region, this itinerary focuses on the highlights of the Nile Valley and is an excellent starting point for further exploration of the region. Starting in Cairo, time is set aside to fully explore the city and pyramids of Giza before flying to the majestic site of Abu Simbel. From here continue to Aswan and join your 6 night cruise along the Nile to Luxor for an iconic and memorable journey.

Following the ancient waterway of Egypt, this tour traces the River Nile from Cairo in the north to Lake Nasser, and Abu Simbel, in the south. A tour for new and seasoned travelers alike, 'Journey to the Nile' is a wonderful introduction to Egypt where highlights include the great pyramids of Giza, the temple complex at Abu Simbel, the Valley of the King's as well as a chance to relax on the Red Sea at the end. Land of the Pharoes, Egypt is home to bustling markets, the winding Nile River and a plethora of unparalleled World Heritage Sites. Begin the journey in the Egyptian capital of Cairo, explore the cavernous Egyptian Antiquities Museum and Medieval Cairo before travelling outside the city for visits to the Sakkara step pyramid and the famous pyramids at Giza. Leave Cairo and travel south to Abu Simbel and Aswan before ending your visit in Luxor at the incredible Valley of the Kings.
IN SEARCH OF ABU SIMBEL

One of the highlights of a visit to Egypt, the temples of Abu Simbel are located close to the country's southern border. Although usually reached by car, this tour offers the unique opportunity to extend your time in this under-explored region with a cruise from Aswan and through Lake Nasser which borders this spectacular site. This tour also incorporates the world famous sites at Giza, Cairo and Luxor. Please note that both cruises, and shore excursions, detailed in this itinerary are operated on a 'join-in basis' with other travellers.
EXPLORE THE SIWA OASIS

Starting in the historic city of Alexandria, this itinerary travels into the heart of the Egyptian desert. Visiting El Alamein the highlight of the tour is Siwa Oasis and the wonderfully unique Adrere Amellal Ecolodge. Covering two–thirds of Egypt’s total area, the desert is an integral part of any visit to North Africa and its influence can be felt throughout the country. For an excellent extension to any stay in Egypt, this journey can also be incorporated to include Luxor, Aswan, a Nile Cruise or even a beach stay on the Red Sea coast.

Experience a Nile cruise from Luxor to Aswan or a cruise on Lake Nasser from Aswan to Abu Simbel. Options abound from a short three night cruise all of the way up to a longer six night option. Please note that these cruises, and shore excursions, are operated on a 'join-in basis' with other travellers.
