Abu Simbel to Aswan – by air
Depart Oberoi Philae Cruise

This morning fly to Abu Simbel via Aswan. One of the highlights of a visit to Egypt, the temples of Abu Simbel are located close to the country’s southern border and are awe-inspiring in their grandeur. Return to Abu Simbel Airport and fly back to Aswan. On your arrival transfer to the Oberoi Philae which will be your base for the next six nights. Please note that that the cruise, and shore excursions, are operated on a ‘join-in basis’ with other travellers.

Offering impeccable service, the Oberoi Philae’s elegant interiors with teak panelling, parquet floors, European antiques and Oriental carpets create an ambience of luxury, whilst all fifty-eight cabins and suites have their own private balcony and bathrooms with their own private shower cubicle. Built during the Ptolemaic period, it is unusual in that it is in fact two temples – one devoted to the crocodile-god, Sobek, and the other to Haroeris, the falcon-headed god (Horus the Great). Continue to Edfu, where the boat will moor overnight. (B/L/D)

Day 7 Cruise
Crossing over to Luxor’s West Bank you will visit some of the stunning tombs in the Valley of the Kings. Inconspicuous and unassuming, the Valley of the Kings hides its secrets well. Carving them deep into the mountains, far from reach, Tutankhamen, Ramses the Great and Tuthmosis III's tombs lie in this single, sprawling necropolis. Continuing to the Valley of the Queens, you then return via the temple of Medinet Habu and the Colossi of Memnon. Overnight on board in Luxor. (B/L/D)

Day 8 Cruise
