A classic journey through northern Ethiopia covering all the major religious and historical sights in the country this tour takes you through breathtaking scenery and history into the very core of Ethiopian life. From modern Addis Ababa and the ancient cultured city of Aksum – home of the Ark of the Covenant – to the atmospheric pilgrimage town of Lalibela, spectacular Blue Nile Falls near Bahar Dar and the Royal Palaces of Gonder, this is a truly memorable journey encompassing all that is synonymous with Ethiopia.
TRIBES OF THE RIFT VALLEY

Located at the southern reaches of the Rift Valley, the Omo is an area renowned for the diversity of its peoples and the significant range of different cultures. This itinerary introduces the traveller to the people of this remote region, an ancient crossroads of trade routes which ultimately led to the migration, and subsequent settlement, of various ethnic groups. Starting in the capital Addis Ababa, the tour descends past the lakes of the lush Rift Valley to the Lower Omo Valley to meet the many different tribes.

Long considered the cradle of civilisation, Ethiopia is a fascinating destination combining medieval history with ancient cultural traditions. This seven day itinerary begins in capital Addis Ababa before continuing to the ancient city of Axum which is home to the St Mary of Zion Churches. From Axum travel on to Lalibela which is one of the most important religious-historical sites of the Christian world and, lastly, Gonder a city famed for the Imperial Castle.
