CRUISING
ON THE MIGHTY BRAHMAPUTRA
The Charaidew is a 38m long twin-engine steel
hulled passenger boat and is owned and operated by
the Assam Bengal Navigation Co. She has been converted
to provide 12 generous-sized twinbedded cabins, air-conditioned
with en suite shower and WC. All cabin accommodation
is on the upper deck, as is a bar and viewing area.
A dining room is on the lower deck, while a top sundeck
offers additional open-air seating and sun lounges.
Food on board is a mixture of Assamnese and continental.
The Brahmaputra runs for some 2900kms from its source
in the Himalayas to its delta in the Bay of Bengal
and these cruises will certainly appeal to those who
wish to witness the diverse cultures and marvellous
wildlife of Assam.
