THE VALE OF KASHMIR

Day 1 London Heathrow to Delhi
Fly with Virgin Atlantic non–stop to Delhi. (N)

Day 2 Delhi
Arrive into Delhi in the morning where you will be met and transferred to the Claridges Hotel where you will stay overnight. (N)

Day 3 Delhi to Srinagar - by air
This morning you will be met and transferred back to Delhi Airport in good time to catch your onward flight to Srinagar. On your arrival you will be met and transferred to your premium Houseboat which will be your base for the next seven nights. Alternatively, upgrade to the Vivanta by Taj Dal View. Later, explore old Srinagar with your guide. (B)

Day 4 Srinagar
At leisure to relax and enjoy Dal Lake which is set in some of the world’s most beautiful scenery and home to the Mihrbahri people who tend their remarkable floating beds of vegetables and flowers. (B)

Day 5 Srinagar – visit Gulmarg
Today enjoy a full day visit to Gulmarg, a popular skiing centre, to enjoy the spectacular scenery and views over the pine forests to the mountains of Nanga Parbat and Harmukh. (B)

Day 6 Srinagar
Today return to Srinagar for further exploration or spend the day at leisure. (B)

Day 7 Srinagar – visit Sonmarg
This morning leave Srinagar for a visit to Sonmarg and the valley of the same name. Sonmarg is known at the ‘gateway to Ladakh’, sits at 2,740 metres above sea level and is surrounded by beautiful flower meadows and high snow–capped mountains.

Day 8 Srinagar
At leisure to relax and enjoy Dal Lake. (B)

Day 9 Srinagar
Today visit the world famous Mughal Gardens, including the Nishat Bagh, or Garden of Gladness, and the Shalimar Bagh which was built by the Emperor Jahangir for his wife Nur Jahan. Later, end the day cruising in a shikara of Lake Dal. (B)

Day 10 Srinagar to Delhi – by air
Today you will be met and transferred to Srinagar Airport in good time to catch your onward flight to Delhi. On your arrival you will be met and transferred to the Claridges Hotel where you will stay overnight. (B)

Day 11 Delhi to London Heathrow
Fly back to London non–stop with Virgin Atlantic. (B)

Extend your time in Kashmir and drive via Kargil through spectacular mountain scenery to Leh, capital of Ladakh – a predominantly Buddhist land of white–washed monasteries and ancient traditions.

Spend time exploring India’s ‘golden triangle’ by extending your journey to include Agra, home of the Taj Mahal, and the historic ‘pink city’ of Jaipur.

A Guide to Price – THE VALE OF KASHMIR

Prices vary according to selected airlines, hotels and season, however, an indication to the current cost of this itinerary is from £1,975. All prices are per person and are based on a minimum of TWO persons travelling together and sharing a twin bedded room with meals as indicated. If you wish to travel alone we will be pleased to assist you with your arrangements and can provide a proposal on request.
