TAJ AND BEYOND
PRIVATE JOURNEY – 15 DAYS – From £3,410
Home to some of India's most recognisable sights, northern India is a region defined by splendid architecture, pulsating cities, grand scenery and traditional rural life. Start your journey in Delhi, where there will be ample time to explore the city. From Delhi, travel by rail south to Agra, home of the beautiful Taj Mahal, before heading west to the princely state of Rajasthan. Here explore the historic 'pink city' of Jaipur and Jodhpur with its fabulous fort and colourful markets. Time will also be spent in the rural market town of Deogarh before ending your journey in picturesque Udaipur.
INDIAN SUMMER

RURAL RAJASTHAN

A unique opportunity to experience the rural towns and villages of princely Rajasthan, this itinerary focuses on the many ancestral homes for which this state is famous. From palaces to colonial bungalows, forts to hunting lodges, this is a leisurely journey through traditional India. From Delhi continue to quaint Bundi, remote Bhainsrorgarh and the market town of Shahpura. Heading south, visit Udaipur en-route to the splendid palace at Dungarpur continuing to Poshina, Mt Abu, Narlai and the temples at Ranakpur. End in peaceful Chhatra Sagar enjoying the location and abundant birdlife.
RAJASTHAN - LAND OF KINGS

Covering some of the most significant sites of northern India, this itinerary encompasses the main highlights of this colourful and historic region. Based, where possible, around luxurious heritage hotels, begin your journey in the historic city of Delhi before travelling south to Agra, home of the Taj Mahal, and Jaipur - Rajasthan's fabled 'pink city'. From here experience rural Rajasthan visiting Ranthambore National Park then staying in forts, ancestral homes and the wonderful tented camp of Chhatra Sagar. End with two nights in the beautiful lakeside city of Udaipur.
JOURNEY TO THE GANGES

No journey to northern India is complete without a visit to Varanasi – India's holiest city. An itinerary offering a cross–section of Indian society, the first half of this journey starts in Delhi, visits elegant Udaipur and Rajasthan’s capital Jaipur. Watch sunrise over the Taj Mahal before venturing into rural Madhya Pradesh, past the abandoned palaces of Orchha to the temples of Khajuraho with their sublime examples of erotic sculpture. Finish your journey in Varanasi, joining the pilgrims who gather to perform their timeless religious rituals along the banks of the sacred River Ganges.
HIGHLIGHTS OF GUJARAT

India's westernmost state, Gujarat is a time-honoured desert land of historic cities and indigenous cultures with a fauna unique to the region. Starting in Ahmedabad, drive to Dasada, via the magnificent sun-temple of Modhera, then bird-watch in the Little Rann of Kutch. Travel on to Bhuj and visit the colourful tribal villages north of the city, explore Raj-era Gondal then continue to Sasan Gir, last remaining abode of the Asiatic lion. End your time in Gujarat at the extraordinary Jain temple complex at Palitana and in Vadodara at the fabulous archaeological remains at Champaner.
A TREK THROUGH THE ARAVELLI HILLS
PRIVATE JOURNEY – 14 DAYS – From £2,475
Stretching over 350 miles from Gujarat to Delhi, in southern Rajasthan the beautiful Aravalli Range is heavily forested and is the source of several important rivers. This journey explores the region in and around the Aravalli Hills and includes a unique three day trek from the pretty village of Narlai, through the Kumbhalgarh Wildlife Sanctuary and ending next to the striking temples at Ranakpur. The trek is led by a specialist guide with stays in comfortable hotel accommodation. Prior to the trek a visit is made to the 'blue city' of Jodhpur and the journey concludes in beautiful Udaipur.
