UNDISCOVERED KARNATAKA AND KERALA
Day 1 Depart London Heathrow
Today make your own way to London Heathrow in good time to catch the
British Airways flight non-stop to Bangalore.
Bangalore to Mysore – 145kms
Arrive into Bangalore in the morning and continue onto Mysore
a charming and relaxed city which is surrounded almost entirely
by fertile farmland and tree clad hills. Until independence Mysore
was the seat of the Maharajas of Mysore, a princely state covering
about a third of present day Karnataka and this afternoon visit the
City Palace, one of the largest in India, built by Henry Irwin in 1897.
Stay for three nights at the Regaalis Hotel. (B)
Day 3 Mysore
&
Day 4 Mysore
Over the next two days tour Mysore and the surrounding area. Visit the
City Palace, one of the largest in India, built by Henry Irwin in 1897
and Chamundi Hill to view the Chamundeswari Temple and the famous Nandi
Bull. Also drive out of the city to Somnathpur to see the exquisite Keshava
Vishnu temple constructed by the Hoysalas in 1268 and the ruins of Tipu
Sultan’s capital at Srirangapatnam. (B)
Day 5 Mysore to Sultan’s Battery – 125kms
This morning drive to Sultan’s Battery in the heart of the Western
Ghats of North Kerala. Stay for two nights at Tranquil a secluded
plantation bungalow on the Kuppamudi Estate, A relaxing and wonderful
place to stay. (B/L/D)
Day 6 Sultan’s Battery
Today you are at leisure to enjoy Tranquil and the surrounding local
area. You could swim in the beautiful pool or lounge in a hammock
with a book. If you are feeling more energetic Tranquil has over 400
acres of estate to explore with seven well-defined paths that cut
through the grounds. (B/L/D)
Day 7 Sultan’s Battery to Siddapur – 170kms
This morning it is a scenic but drive to Siddapur in the picturesque Coorg
area, nestling in the Western Ghats at 800 meters above sea level. The
beautiful district of Coorg, untouched by urban development, offers crisp
air, thick tropical forest, exotic spice and coffee plantations, extensive
paddy fields and diverse flora and bird life. Stay two nights at The School
Estate. (B)
Day 8 Siddapur
At leisure maybe visit Dubare Elephant Camp or Madikeri the capital of Coorg. (B)
Day 9 Siddapur to Neeleshwar – 180kms
This morning drive towards the coast and the Neeleshwar Hermitage Hotel where you will
stay for the next four nights. (B)
This heavenly Relais & Chateaux hideaway is set in a palm grove, just back from an unspoiled beach. The traditional, thatched cottages house 16 cottages and are large, airy and wonderfully inviting, comfortable and spacious. Each has its own veranda and most look straight out to sea.

Day 13 Neeleshwar to Mangalore
Mangalore to Mumbai – by air
Today, after breakfast, leave Neeleshwar and transfer by car to Mangalore
Airport in good time to catch your onward flight to Mumbai. On your
arrival you will be met and transferred to the Leela Kempinski Hotel,
located close to the international airport, where you will stay overnight.

Day 14 Depart Mumbai
Today return to Mumbai Airport in good time to catch the British Airways
flight to London Heathrow (B)

Prices vary according to selected airlines, hotels and season, however, an indication to the current cost of this itinerary is from £2,950. All prices are per person and are based on a minimum of TWO persons travelling together and sharing a twin bedded room with meals as indicated.
