Day 1 London Heathrow to Singapore
Fly with Singapore Airlines non-stop to Singapore.

Day 2 Singapore to Jakarta
Arrive Singapore and connect to your onward Singapore Airlines flight to Jakarta. You will be met on arrival and transferred to the Santika Premiere Hotel where you will stay overnight. (N)

Day 3 Jakarta to Bandung
Today drive to Bogor. On your arrival visit the Bogor Botanical Gardens and the Zoological Museum before continuing onto Bandung, passing through the huge tea plantation in the Puncak Area on the way. On your arrival stay at the Arion Swissbell Hotel for the next two nights. (B)

Day 4 Bandung
This morning visit the smoking crater of Mount Tangkuban and the mountain resort of Ciater which is noted for its hot water springs. (B)

Day 5 Bandung to Pangandaran
After breakfast, your journey by car continues south towards the coast to Pangandaran visiting the Hindu temple at Cangkuang and Lake Cangkuang en-route. Stay at the Sunrise Cottage for two nights. (B)

Day 6 Pangandaran
This morning enjoy a visit to Pangandaran National Park which is home to hundreds of long-tail macaques, wild buffalo, barking deer and numerous other species. Also take time to visit a nearby village where you will be able to meet the local people and experience their daily life. Afterwards return to your hotel stopping at Green Canyon on the way. (B)

Day 7 Pangandaran to Wonosobo
Today leave for nearby Kalipucang to join the ferry across the Anakan Lagoon to Cilicap. This wonderful journey follows the Tanduy River and you will have the opportunity to stop off en-route at the various fishing villages. Later continue by car to the small mountain of Wonosobo which offers the best base for visiting the Dieng Plateau. Stay overnight at the basic Kresna Gallery Hotel

Day 8 Wonosobo to Yogyakarta
Today drive up to the Dieng Plateau, 26kms from Wonosobo, which offers some of the most spectacular scenery in Indonesia with its ancient Hindu temples, craters, sulphur springs, geysers and lakes. The best time to explore the plateau is early in the morning when the sky is usually clear. Continue to the famous Buddhist temple complex at Borobudur, 40kms from Yogyakarta, which is the largest in the world. Finally arrive in Yogyakarta the cultural centre of Java and stay two nights at the Yogyakarta Plaza Hotel.

Day 9 Yogyakarta
This morning visit the Sultan’s Royal Palace and the Kraton Yogya complex – a city within a city with a maze of markets, shops and homes. Also visit the Sono Budoyo Museum noted for its collection of Javanese and Balinese arts and crafts. (B)

Day 10 Yogyakarta to Solo
Today drive to Solo stopping on the way to see the Hindu temple at Prambanan you’re your arrival in Solo visit the Mangkunegaran Palace, Triwindhu Flea Market and the Radya Pustaka Museum. Stay overnight at the Lor Inn Resort. (B)

Day 11 Solo to Bromo
After breakfast continue to Bromo with a stop at Trowulan, which opened in 1987 to display and preserve the ever increasing number of historical treasures discovered in the vicinity of the old Majapahit capital. Stay at the 3* Bromo Cottage Hotel overnight. (B)

Day 12 Bromo to Lovina
Early this morning ascend by jeep up to Mt Penanjakan to see the sunrise over Mt Bromo, Mt Batok and the highest peak in Java, Mt Semeru. Later descend into the Tengger Sand Sea and onto the rim of the Bromo crater. Return to your hotel for breakfast and then continue along the costal road to the Pier for the boat to Bali. Stay at the Puri Bagus Lovina Hotel overnight. (B)

Day 13 Lovina to Ubud
Depart by car for Ubud the artistic and cultural heart of Bali. Around Ubud live Bali’s most noted painters, carvers, weavers, dancers and musicians. Stay for two nights in Ubud which is a wonderful retreat. Stay at the Komaneka Resort for two nights. (B)

Day 14 Ubud
Much of the charm of Ubud lies in the beauty of the surrounding countryside and un-spoilt local villages which are well worth exploring on foot or by bicycle. In the centre of Ubud the Museum Puri Lukisan contain examples of 20th Century Balinese art. (B)

Day 15 Ubud to Kuta
Today transfer to the famous Kuta Beach. En-route take time to stop and watch a Barong Dance Performance and visit Alas Kedaton, the monkey forest. Continue to the famous sea temple at Tanah Lot. Stay for two nights at the Mercure Kuta Hotel. (B)

Day 16 Kuta
At leisure. (B)

Day 17 Kuta to Denpasar
Denpasar to Singapore
Singapore to London Heathrow

Today transfer to Denpasar airport for your Singapore Airlines flight to London Heathrow via Singapore. (B)

A Guide to Price – JAVA & BALI OVERLAND

Prices vary according to selected airlines, hotels and season, however, an indication to the current cost of this itinerary is from £2,750. All prices are per person and are based on a minimum of TWO persons travelling together and sharing a twin bedded room with meals as indicated. If you wish to travel alone we will be pleased to assist you with your arrangements and can provide a proposal on request.
