MARRAKECH
Marrakech is one of the world’s great cities with the High Atlas Mountains, normally snow capped until late spring, forming a dramatic backdrop to the magnificent ochre walls which surround the vibrant and colourful souks of the Médina. This really is a city of vivid contrasts, from the palm-lined avenues of the modern city to the beautiful palaces and gardens, not to mention the incredible Jemaâ el Fna Square that comes to life at sunset with musicians, dancers, storytellers, acrobats, snake charmers, healers and a vast array of food-stalls.

FÈS, MEKNÈS & VOLUBILIS
Fès is a reminder of bygone medieval Morocco. Along with nearby Meknès, they are two of the ‘Imperial Cities’ of Morocco and to this day are the intellectual and spiritual centres of the country. Situated amongst rolling hills the layered houses of Fès have marked the landscape for over a thousand years. The old city has a vast Médina with many historic buildings and an intricate network of narrow lanes and souks. The Festival of World Music takes place in Fès during June and July each year and features Moroccan spiritual music as well as other music from around the world. Near to Meknès is the wonderfully preserved Roman city of Volubilis. This extensive UNESCO World Heritage Site has much to interest the enthusiast and novice alike with buildings clearly discernable from the ruins and detailed floor mosaics.
