HA GIANG EXPLORER
Day 1 Hanoi to Ha Giang – 295kms (Thursday)
This morning leave Hanoi and drive to Ha Giang – a remote area
of northeast Vietnam – stopping for lunch en-route. Later visit
the Tay minority people at Me village, one of the oldest Tay communities
in Ha Giang, taking time to explore the village and everyday life
before continuing onto your Homestay, a traditional ‘house-on-stilts’
Where you will stay for the next two nights. Although the accommodation
here is basic, a stay here is an unforgettable experience. (L/D)
Day 2 Tay Minority Villages (Friday)
Today, you are at leisure to explore the village and surrounding area.
Maybe undertake a full day trek, along the Tay Con Linh mountain,
passing rice paddies, tea plantations and remote villages, or, walk
to the village of Phuong Tien, home to the oldest Tay community in
the region. Alternatively, enjoy a day of cycling around the local
country villages and through the beautiful valley scenery. (B/L/D)
Day 3 Ha Giang to Dong Van – 160kms (Saturday)
Leave the village and enjoy a wonderful journey through the mountainous
landscapes and paddy fields. Stop at the Quet Tien minority market,
a colourful and industrious trading post, before continuing onto a
White Hmong village which is famous for its flax weaving. From here
continue your way onto Dong Van stopping en-route to visit further
villages, with a highlight being the impressive ancient Hmong King
Palace. On your arrival in Dong Van continue to the Hoang Ngoc Guesthouse
where you will stay overnight. (B/L/D)
Day 4 Dong Van to Ha Giang – 170kms (Sunday)
In the morning, visit the Sunday Dong Van minority market which is
one of the most vibrant minority markets in Vietnam, before reaching
the peak of Ma Pi Leng which has wonderful panoramic views of mountains,
river and paddy terraces. Later take time to visit Meo Vac, and its
famous cattle market, before proceeding to the village of Zao Ao Dai
for lunch lunch. Later return to Ha Giang and check into the Huy Hoan
Guesthouse where you will stay overnight. (B/L/D)
Day 5 Ha Giang to Hanoi – 320kms (Monday)
After breakfast enjoy a walk, or cycle, around the village one last
time before returning by car to Hanoi with a stop on the way for lunch.

Prices vary according to selected airlines, hotels and season, however, an indication to the current cost of this itinerary is from £740. All prices are per person and are based on a minimum of TWO persons travelling together and sharing a twin bedded room with meals as indicated.
