ESSENCE OF THAILAND
Day 1 London to Bangkok
Depart London Heathrow on the Thai Airways flight overnight to Bangkok.
Day 2 Bangkok
Arrive Bangkok in the afternoon, where you will be met and transferred to the Dusit Thani Hotel for two nights.
Day 3 Bangkok
Today tour the city with a local guide covering the beautiful Grand Palace complex, the superb Temple of the Golden Buddha, the reclining Buddha as well as Wat Arun and the Temple of Dawn. (B)
Day 4 Bangkok to Chiang Rai – by air
Chiang Rai to Sop Ruak – 70 kms
Morning transfer to Bangkok airport for the Thai Airways flight to Chiang Rai. On your arrival in Chiang Rai proceed to Sop Ruak. Stay at the Anantara Golden Triangle Hotel for two nights. (B)
Day 5 Sop Ruak
Today visit the ‘Golden Triangle’ region where the borders of Burma, Thailand and Laos meet at the intersection of the Mekong and Ruak Rivers. Visits will be made to some hill tribe villages and later travel by local boat to the ancient town of Chiang Saen. (B/L)
Day 6 Sop Ruak to Chiang Mai – 280 kms
This morning continue by car to Chiang Mai .situated by the Ping River in a high valley at the foot of Doi Suthep Mountain via Wiang Pa Pao hot spring. Stay at the Tamarind Village Hotel for two nights. (B)
Day 7 Chiang Mai
Today visit the principal temples including the ancient temple on Mount Suthep with its panoramic views over Chiang Mai. Also visit Bo Sang and San Kam Phaeng to see umbrella, silverware and other traditional hill tribe handicrafts being made. (B/L)
Day 8 Chiang Mai to Bangkok – by air
Bangkok to London
Morning transfer to Chiang Mai airport for the Thai Airways flight to Bangkok and connect with Thai Airways flight to London, arriving London Heathrow in the afternoon local time. (B)

Prices vary according to selected airlines, hotels and season, however, an indication to the current cost of this itinerary is from £2,110.00. All prices are per person and are based on a minimum of TWO persons travelling together and sharing a twin bedded room with meals as indicated. If you wish to travel alone we will be pleased to assist you with your arrangements and can provide a proposal on request.
