Explore Buenos Aires’s cultural heart, including the central Plaza de Mayo, free-spirited quarter of San Telmo and the vibrant La Boca area – brimming with music, dancing and art.

The Perito Moreno Glacier is easily one of South Americas most impressive natural wonders; when you visit, watch out for displays of impressive glacier calving.

The awe-inspiring Iguazu Falls on the Argentine-Brazil border tumble over the lush Parana Plateau. A series of spectacular waterfalls average 1750 cubic metres per second.

Fly overnight from London with British Airways to Buenos Aires. (N)
Arrive into Buenos Aires in the morning where you will be met and transferred to your accommodation. In the afternoon tour this energetic city where the lifestyle and architecture is more European than any other place in South America. Places of interest include the Plaza de Mayo, the main square in the heart of the city, the bohemian quarter of San Telmo, noted for its colonial buildings, old churches and lively cafes and the colourful port area of La Boca where tango dancers perform and artists exhibit their work. Finally visit the famous Recoleta cemetery, where Eva Peron is buried. (N)

Today travel by hydrofoil to Colonia del Sacramento, a UNESCO World Heritage site situated just across the River Plata in Uruguay. Founded in 1680 by the Portuguese, this old colonial town with its cobbled streets and picturesque houses is rich in history. (B/L)

This morning transfer to the airport for your flight south to Ushuaia the most southerly town in the world. Set on the shores of the Beagle Channel against an impressive backdrop of snow peaked mountains Ushuaia is the base for exploring the Tierra del Fuego National Park. (B)

Today cruise the Beagle Channel and its bays to view Sea Lion Island, Estancia Harberton and the Penguin Colony. (B)

Leave your hotel after lunch and transfer back to the airport for your afternoon flight to El Calafate, gateway to the magnificent Perito Moreno and the Glaciers National Park. The Perito Moreno glacier is without doubt one of South America’s most magnificent sights, and arguably one of the world’s greatest wonders. (B)

Over the next two days view up close the colossal Perito Moreno glacier which spans five kilometers across and towers some sixty metres above the surface of the lake. From an observation platform watch as huge chunks of blue ice shear off the face of the glacier and crash into the waters below. Also take a boat excursion to the Upsala and Onelli Glaciers. (B)

Morning at leisure. This afternoon leave behind the remote and rugged land of glaciers and fly north to the alpine climes of Bariloche which is beautifully situated on the southern shore of Nahuel Huapi – the heart of the Argentine Lake District. Stay for two nights at the Llao Llao Hotel. (B)

Today you are at leisure to relax and enjoy the town and views at your own pace. (B)

Leave your hotel after breakfast and fly via Buenos Aires to Iguazu. Four times wider than Niagara, the Iguazu Falls are undoubtedly the most dramatic in the world. (B)

Today take a boat safari up the river to the Iguazu Falls – a cacophony of thundering water, colourful rainbows and furious torrents make this a breathtaking sight. (B)

Spend the morning, when the light is best, on the Brazilian side of the falls which offer wonderful panoramic views. Later transfer to Cataratas Airport for your flight to Sao Paulo in Brazil.
