Inle Princess Resort

Overview

Nestled in a tranquil inlet on Inle Lake’s eastern shore and surrounded by nature and the peaks of the Blue Mountains, Inle Princess Resort is arguably the most famous luxury hotels on Inle Lake and boasts an impressive wine cellar.

Accommodation

The resort is built in traditional Shan style and is rustic in design, with 46 locally-constructed thatch houses made from sustainably-sourced pyinkado, teak and bamboo perched on stilts over the lake. There are four types of accommodation for guests to choose from – Mountain Houses, Garden Houses, Lake Houses and Princess Houses, which are the most spacious of all. All of the guest houses feature enormous windows and private terraces, 27 overlooking the lake and the remaining 19 offering views of the tropical gardens. During the cool winter months, accommodation is heated by clay wood oven each evening to ensure guest comfort. To maintain the peaceful environment of the resort, guests arriving by boat are rowed in authentic one-legged style, avoiding the noise of motors.

Facilities

With the Shan state being Myanmar’s culinary heart, it is no surprise that Inle Princess Resort takes great pride in its cuisine. Menus change daily and ingredients are sourced from lakeside markets or grown on site. Dining locations include beneath paper Shan lanterns in the restaurant or on the lakeside deck, where a wide range of cocktails and mocktails can also be enjoyed.
