01892 515 966Spanning the provinces of British Columbia and Alberta, the Canadian Rockies are a vast area of high mountain scenery, picturesque vineyards, lakes, glaciers and an abundance of wildlife. Accessed from either Vancouver or Calgary, for many this region is Canada at its most grand. Relax aboard the comfortable Rocky Mountaineer train for fine panoramic views or hit the road to better explore the remote back country. A morning’s drive from Vancouver, the lush Okanagan Valley is home to some fine wineries whilst Glacier and Banff national parks are perfect for the more adventurous with excellent hiking, climbing and canoeing. Harder to access, UNESCO protected Kootenay National Park in British Columbia and Yoho National Park have hot springs, waterfalls and pristine forests supporting moose, elk and bear. Arguably Canada’s finest road, follow the spectacular Icefields Parkway to Jasper National Park, an internationally important ecosystem that is home to Canada’s largest population of grizzly bears.
