On this island hopping itinerary discover three of the Greece’s most charming isles – Paros, Naxos and Santorini – as well as spending time in Athens. Starting your journey in the ancient capital, enjoy an included private tour of the city encompassing the Acropolis and Parthenon. Continue to the characterful island of Paros famous for its windmills and wineries before spending two nights on Naxos, known for its remarkable beaches. Finish your island hopping itinerary on the romantic island of Santorini. Soak up the spectacular sunset views, visit volcanic hot springs and admire the postcard-perfect panoramas of Greece’s famed blue domes and white churches.

Day 1 UK to Athens

Begin your journey this morning by boarding your international flight to Athens. On arrival you will be met and privately transferred from the airport to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day at leisure where you may wish to wander around the city or relax at the hotel. (N)

Day 2 Athens

After a leisurely breakfast, enjoy a private tour of Athens – one of the oldest cities in the world. Begin at Athens’ most famous sites – the Acropolis and Parthenon. The Acropolis is an ancient citadel perched on an outcrop above the city which boasts temples, columns and classical Greek architecture. You will also visit the Temple of Zeus, Hadrian’s Arch and the Kallimarmaro Stadium, built of marble for the first modern Olympic Games in 1896. End your day in the vibrant neighbourhood of Plaka where you can explore the narrow-cobbled streets, spot ancient landmarks and stop off at atmospheric cafes and bars. (B)

Day 3 Athens to Paros

This morning you will be privately transferred to the port of Piraeus to take the ferry to the beautiful island of Paros. Home to whitewashed houses, golden-sand beaches and rolling vineyards, Paros is one of the Cyclades’s most charming and characterful islands. After you have checked in to your hotel you may wish to wander through Parikia or Naousa and explore the narrow-cobbled streets lined with boutique shops and Greek tavernas. (B)

Day 4 Paros

Spend today at leisure as you wish. You may opt to take a boat trip to Antiparos where you can spend the day diving into the turquoise waters, exploring secluded bays and caves and enjoying freshly caught seafood. Choose from either a private trip on a sailboat or a shared trip on a traditional kaiki boat – your Travel Expert can assist you in narrowing down the options. In the evening you may wish to have dinner in one of the island’s traditional windmills. (B)

Day 5 Paros to Naxos

This morning you will be transferred to the port before embarking on your short ferry journey to Naxos. On arrival you will be picked up and privately driven to your hotel. The island of Naxos is the largest of the Cyclades – it is the nuptial isle of the god of wine, Dionysus, and has the highest mountain of the group, Mount Zas. Spend the afternoon at leisure – you may wish to relax on one of the island’s beautiful beaches including Agios Prokopios, Aliko and Pyrgaki. (B)

Day 6 Naxos

Today is at leisure in Naxos. If you would like to experience the culture and beauty of the island, we would recommend taking a half-day private tour. Visit the villages of Stavros and Apiranthos for spectacular mountainous and coastal views, stop at Halki and explore the olive groves and Byzantine churches before stopping at a distillery established in 1896. Finish at the 17th century-built Bazeos Tower which was a former monastery and one of Naxos’ most prominent sights. Alternatively, you may wish to take part in a cookery class and traditional lunch with a local Naxian family. (B)

Day 7 Naxos to Santorini

After breakfast you will be picked up and taken to Naxos port to board the ferry to the romantic island of Santorini. After being transferred to your hotel you have the afternoon at leisure to start exploring the jewel of the Aegean. Created by a volcano, you can enjoy spectacular views of the caldera rim – sunset is a particularly magical time. (B)

Day 8 - 9 Santorini

You have two free days at leisure to explore Santorini. There are several excellent sightseeing experiences that you may wish to incorporate including a winery tour, volcano hot springs boat trip and a caldera sunset cruise. We can also recommend a full day tour of the island which includes visits to Ptofitis Ilias, the highest point of Santorini with spectacular views, the traditional village of Megalochori – home to the Cycladic cave houses – and Akrotiri, a Bronze Age settlement which was destroyed by a volcanic eruption in the 17th century. You will also visit a black sand beach, go wine tasting and explore beautiful Oia – famous for its blue domes and white houses overlooking the volcanic caldera. (B)

Day 10 Santorini to the UK

Enjoy a morning at leisure before being transferred to Santorini Airport for your flight back to the UK. (B)
