The beautiful tea estate of Glenburn, reached by following the River Teesta towards Sikkim, occupies a magical setting high on a hillside with distant views of the mighty Kanchenjunga mountain range. Surrounded by lush tea plantations and picturesque villages, Glenburn is an hour’s drive from Darjeeling and two from the hill town of Kalimpong. With a history dating back to 1859, the tea estate was originally established by Scottish planters and today is the location of the elegant Glenburn Tea Estate which offers comfortable accommodation and the opportunity to experience authentic plantation life. Spend time at the estate’s tea factory, explore the tea fields, relax at the bungalow or birdwatch. Day hikes, fishing trips and cookery classes can also be arranged.
