After breakfast depart the city and drive south to the Mourne
Mountains to meet your local hiking guide for a day’s walking among
glorious coastal peaks that once inspired CS Lewis’ Chronicles of
Narnia. Your guide will match you with the perfect hike to suit your
fitness level, from gentle valley walks to challenging summits. Make the
most of the breathtaking scenery with a lakeside or mountaintop picnic
lunch before returning to Belfast in the afternoon. Spend the rest of

This morning head north to Ballycastle and begin your journey through
the stunning Causeway Coast in North Antrim. This protected National
Trust coastline offers outstanding natural beauty. From Ballycastle
follow a panoramic coastal route to the Giants Causeway where en route
you may wish to visit the ancient castle ruins, beautiful beaches and
quaint harbours of this region. It is also a very good place for
birdwatching. Finish your day at the spectacular UNESCO World Heritage
site of the Giant’s Causeway. (B)

Meet a local boatman this morning and head across the Sea of Moyle
for six miles to Rathlin Island. During your trip cruise past hidden
coves, sea stacks, the dramatic West Lighthouse and a bird sanctuary
which is a seasonal home to breeding puffins. The island is best known
for the legend of Robert the Bruce and his lesson in perseverance whilst
watching a spider attempting to bridge a gap with its web. Enjoy lunch
on the island at the harbour village. On the return to the mainland,
witness the Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge or perhaps sail alongside empty
white sand beaches of the Causeway Coast. (B)

Start your day by visiting Derry with a local guide. Derry is a
fascinating place and one of Europe’s few remaining fully walled cities.
On the border with the Republic of Ireland, the city has witnessed a
dramatic past which has shaped Irish history, Derry has moved beyond its
turbulent past and today it is known as a city of culture. In the
afternoon, continue your drive and stop at Glenveagh National Park, one
of Ireland’s most remote national parks. Noted for the romantic
Glenveagh Castle which sits on the lakeshore, admire the breathtaking
mountainous landscapes. After stretching your legs in the park head to
your hotel which is located around 6 miles from Donegal town. (B)

After breakfast meet your private guide and visit Slieve League

League say goodbye to your guide and head to Donegal. This charming town
