The above price is based on two people travelling together and sharing accommodation in low season. The price is only a guide and can vary according to selected airlines, hotels and date of travel. This trip is suitable for active travellers who have a good level of fitness and are experienced hikers. You will need to be comfortable walking at a good pace and should expect to be walking for between 6 and 8 hours a day. Hikes will not always follow paths and you should expect the terrain underfoot to occasionally be rough and boggy. This includes boulder fields and mountain tops so you will need to be confident hiking on uneven ground. Some of the daily walks will involve mountain ascents of approximately 2400 feet / 750m. It is also worth noting that the weather in Scotland can be unpredictable which can make outdoor activities more challenging. As a result your guide may have to change the itinerary to suit the conditions
On this itinerary you will have your own private vehicle (Ford Custom or similar) and driver throughout. Your driver will also be your guide. Masks are required to be worn when in the vehicle and to maintain social distancing the vehicle has a maximum occupancy of five people (from the same household). The vehicle will be cleaned every day.
It is also possible, should you wish, to undertake this journey on a self-drive basis using your own vehicle or a hire car. We can also assist you with rail or air travel to and from Scotland as well as any additional hotel stays in Scotland or the rest of the UK. Please contact us for further details.
The options for extending your holiday are almost endless – from the Cairngorms, Arisaig, Argyll and Skye to more time spent in Tayside and Glencoe.
We had a fantastic time on Islay, with only one wet day and the others in brilliant sunshine. Our guide was attentive and resourceful. He was a mine of historical information and his presence provided an interesting insight which we would have missed had we been travelling on our own.
