Day 1
UK to Rome
This morning start your journey by boarding your international flight to Rome where you will be met on arrival and transferred by private vehicle to your hotel in the city. The rest of the day is free for you to explore the city at your leisure. You might choose to wander down Rome’s tree-lined boulevards exploring the various museums, boutiques and road-side cafes or why not discover the city’s hidden oasis – the Botanical Gardens.

Day 2
Rome
Today you are at leisure to explore the Italian capital and all its wonderful historic sites. The Roman public transport system is an effective and affordable way to see the city. Visit Rome’s most famous site and ruins - the Colosseum. Completed in AD 80 this was where the emperor hosted legendary battles where gladiators and exotic animals came face-to-face to combat. Other highlights include the beautifully preserved temple-turned-church Pantheon and the flamboyant Trevi Fountain. This evening enjoy your chosen opera performance at Rome’s Teatro Costanzi.

Day 3
Rome
After breakfast head to the Vatican, the headquarters of the Roman Catholic Church. A treasure trove of art, architecture and history, visit St Peter’s Basilica and the iconic dome that crowns the most important place of worship within the Catholic Church. Explore the Sistene Chapel and Michelangelo’s magnificently painted ceiling before continuing to the Vatican Museums which is wall-to-wall with spectacular Renaissance Art. That afternoon we could arrange a cookery class creating Italian classics such as homemade pasta or tiramisu, or spend the day exploring the city as you wish.

Day 4
Rome to the UK
Enjoy your last day in Rome before returning to the UK. Enjoy traditional pizza and a glass of wine at Piazza di Spagna, uncover the bohemian neighbourhood of Trastevere known for its colourful houses, craft beer and artisan shops or visit one of Rome’s many museums. Later that afternoon, you will be transferred by private vehicle to the airport for your flight home. When you arrive back into the UK, continue your journey home.
