A Private Brahmaputra River Cruise - Rhinos and Monks of Assam
7 days from £2760 per person
Route: Guwahati – Kaziranga National Park – Silghat – Majuli Island – Jorhat
Arguably one of India’s most beautiful and diverse states, Assam is home to rolling tea hills, national parks filled with an abundance of wildlife, river islands, ancient temples and the mighty Brahmaputra River. This seven-day journey with Assam Bengal Navigation combines a three-night stay at the beautifully isolated Diphlu River Lodge with access to Kaziranga National Park, and an exclusive private river cruise aboard the MV Rudra Singha. This traditional houseboat is perfect for couples, individuals or small families to explore the Brahmaputra, where a crew of four will be present at all times. A unique feature of this smaller boat is that it allows a shallow draft meaning travellers can get to unique places that a regular river cruise couldn’t. Alternatively, there are other shorter private river cruises available with Assam Bengal Navigation which can be incorporated with a Pettitts Travel tailor-made India itinerary.
ITINERARY HIGHLIGHTS
This exclusive and private river cruise on the Brahmaputra uses a traditional wooden houseboat which allows you to get up close to the local rural communities and unique places usually unreachable by a traditional, larger boat.
