Route 66 Self-Drives

Travel lonely roads and endless highways from the plains of the Midwest, through farmland, desert and mountain to the sun-kissed Californian coast. Stop in quirky roadside diners, stay in legendary hotels and motels, and pass iconic Route 66 landmarks along the way. The entire route between Chicago and Los Angeles can be completed in a little over two weeks but for those with a little less time the journey can be shortened by starting in Oklahoma City. Alternatively, if you wish to stay longer, extend your holiday by following coastal Highway 1 to northern California and beautiful San Francisco. It is also possible to take advantage of the ‘no one-way drop off fee’ by collecting your hire car from Chicago O'Hare Airport and dropping it off at Los Angeles Airport.
