Driving Route 66 in reverse means that you will complete many of the long drives in Arizona, Nevada and California at the start and enjoy more relaxed and shorter journeys at the end. You will also experience much hotter weather at the beginning of your trip and as you continue will appreciate cooler and more comfortable temperatures. Car hire is also often less expensive this way around, although one-way fees need to be paid when travelling in this direction.
