Self-Drive: The Highlights of Yukon and Alaska
15 days
from £2800 pp
Alaska is not only the largest state in America but is also one of the least populated. This is a true frontier land – prospectors still search for gold, huge swathes of the region are both inaccessible and uninhabited, there is a strong Native American culture and wildlife is remarkably untroubled by human contact. There are few better ways to appreciate Alaska’s epic grandeur than on a self-drive holiday and the flexibility of travelling by road provides the opportunity to truly discover some of the last great wilderness areas on earth. Spot grizzly bear in Denali National Park or travel the spectacular Haines Highway to Kluane National Park, learn about Alaska’s gold rush in pretty Skagway or see glaciers on the way to Seward. Alaska can also be combined with the neighbouring Canadian territory of Yukon and we will be happy to advise you on the most suitable routings and arrangements.
